Re: Engine cleaning
I use gunk engine degreaser on my chain.
Should work well if you brush in with a paintbrush.
Halfords sell it in a tin cheaper than online shops.

Re: Engine cleaning
yeah as per Lee Gunk is powerful. dont leave on to long though …normal Diesel fuel is a good cleanser too …muc off etc ok for normal road crap but for a deep clean go stronger
Im after a new pressure washer smudge ,did you get a good deal on anything ? Karcher ?

Not used it myself but one of the guys on the bandit forum used it on his engine and had great results, maybe someone else can verify..

Re: Engine cleaning
Thats a terrible idea, it will ruin the seals and grease inside the chain! How long have you been doing this?lee wrote:I use gunk engine degreaser on my chain.
Gunk should only be used on plain metal areas, it can burn through paint also.
Re: Engine cleaning
Bollocks.
Been using it for years and never had any issues.
Cbr chain is on about 23k miles.
Sd on 18k since I bought bike (chain already on it).
Im guessing you have actually used it and suffered a failure as a direct result and not just repeated what someone else told you?
