Updates - 2017

Post by CRM » 22 Dec 2017, 10:28

Hello everyone, i am planning on some pretty major updates to the board and bring it up a couple of versions.
changes that are obvious will be the skin it uses.
We may have to revert to the standard PHPBB skin for a while, however more importantly will be the downtime.
I am warning you all now to expect interruption of service and times of limited or no access to the board while i upgrade components like PHP and the back end database before even starting to look at the board.
Backup will of course be taken before any changes are made.

Wish me luck

Ok, so the database, PHP version and MySQL have all been updated.
Hosting moved to a new development server for now and DNS updated.
I appreciate it means fuck all to most, but to those who do understand will be able to understand why the default skin has been enforced for now

I have also sacked off the VIP thing, so anyone "should" be able to edit their avatars and signatures.
Tapatalk has gone - for now, i will look at putting this back on once the rest of the work is done.

So to summarise
I have replaced the piston, rings, gaskets, and replaced the coolant and gearbox oil.
I am currently doing a few heat cycles and running in before i bolt all the bodywork back together

Thanks @CRM - the boards have quietened down, but I'm on here regularly as I'm sure many are, so thanks for keeping things going

Merry Christmas to all

Just need to get @Mozzersaints and a few others looped in on the new tech.
