Half Price IAM training to under 30's
Half Price IAM training to under 30's
This is an email I received from the IAM today, I hope it is taken up by some members on here.
Help our Warrington Group to help young riders under 30 in memory of Jack Bellis
Young riders can get 50% off the Skill for Life riding course – help spread the word!
As Membership Manager for the IAM I am delighted to advise you of a superb local motorcycling scheme in memory of a young rider Jack Bellis that offers 50% off the cost of the IAM Advanced Riding course for riders under 30 years old in the Warrington area.
Jack Bellis scheme extended to under-30s
Warrington Advanced Motorcyclists are pleased to announce that the Jack Bellis Under-25s Scheme has been extended to any biker aged 30 or under at the time of enrolment in the scheme.
Help us to spread the word and help young riders gain advanced skills
If you know any riders who are 30 or under who want to improve their bike skills then please visit the Warrington group website http://www.warram.org.uk/index-bikes.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The cost is just £69.50 (roughly 50% of the £149 IAM Skill for Life course) up front plus a contribution of £40 towards your Observer's fuel costs.
What's the catch? There isn't one!

Better value than a Power Commander or Akrapovic or sports tyres. Transfers from bike to bike with no fuss or cost.

I'm up for this but how can £40 fuel costs work unless you are 1:1 and he rides my Benelli or Rob's old Z1000?

I wouldn't have thought a fiver a week was a big deal, when I was doing it I was easily using 10-15 quid travelling to and from Formby and course riding.rumpoldstilskin wrote:I'm up for this but how can £40 fuel costs work unless you are 1:1 and he rides my Benelli or Rob's old Z1000?

Thats what i was getting at, £40 would get me nearly a full tank in my car and that does 700+ miles to a tank. I know my bike is piss poor, bit if its spread i suppose it not bad at all.
But then is the training during the week/weekends?
Think i'll leave it and just carry on wobbling around corners as i can't just take time off here and there.

It's normally over about 8 weeks, usually Saturdays at the Sefton one but I know there were a few exceptions who did mid week sessions. Definitely something to think about doing in the future though.

Do u have to live in the area to take advantage?
