Motorbike legal / rule question

Post by Clarkey » 27 Aug 2018, 22:16

Can anyone direct me to any official rules regarding sidecars...

Specifically, can you have a rider + pillon + sidecar passenger (total 3) or not?

I can't find anything

Cheers

I think you need wobble your head and buy a car if you are considering a sidecar.

That said, could be good for solo camping- saves taking a tent.

Yes and having sex in the side car is very awkward as well. :D

Cheers. Know anywhere that's officially recorded? No worries if not

I was going out on my bike the other day and my 2 year old was desperate to come out with me - not hugely possible on a Futura, lol... So sidecar might be a way to share motorbiking with my little lad without waiting years...

Maybe just dreaming at the moment but we'll see

Got loads of family pics of grandad on a panther slope with grandma pillion and mum n uncle in sidecar. I read through all the .gov shite. It's generic AF. Pillion must have a seat and pegs it all it says !

I was really surprised that the sidecar doesn't have to have a seatbelt (though if it does, it will be checked as part of the MOT, and the passenger must wear it - at least that's what I understand), and the passenger doesn't have to wear a helmet either (though the rider and pillion do)...

You get the impression a different person made up the answer each time there was a question, lol

If you get a sidecar you will be banned from here.
Stick your lad in a backpack.
