Re: RS660?
They did the rrv450 for a race series.
Based on the 450 v twin off road bikes.
Wonder how this would do for sales.
600s are dead.
Honda and suzuki dont do them any more in the uk.
Only kawasaki and yamaha bothering.
Maybe being a twin will help

Yeah, the rrv450 was a lovely thing, but quite highly tuned I think and needed a bit of maintenancelee wrote:They did the rrv450 for a race series.

Hopefully this is a little lazier with similar power. The 600 class of sports bikes are dead, not sure about others tbh

Re: RS660?
Just noticed its a parallel,
I assumed it would be a v twin.
Ktm went the same way with the smaller duke.

Parallel seem quite popular in the mid size engines, not sure if they're cheaper or easier to fit or something?lee wrote:Just noticed its a parallel,

I wonder if you had two otherwise identical bikes how much different a v twin would feel compared to parallel twin

F800, New Ktm, MT07, Ninja 650, CB500, NC700/750 all realistically sub 120mph machines where performance is gained through agility. The exception being the SV650 (& the Shiver 750 if you want be particular).

My old v-twin sd had a shorter wheelbase than the new parallel 790?
Ktm extended it when they did the facelift on the superduke to tame the handling a little.
The rear cylinder extends above the swing arm pivot.

Re: RS660?
I seen a fully camouflaged landrover yesterday on the motorway near Heathrow, got photos too- i’m betting it the new defender.
