Staying in Hotel

Post by Chops Mcgoo » 20 Jul 2015, 19:30

I'm travelling south tomorrow with work. Debating taking the bike, but I have no disc lock etc.

Will be staying in a hotel (probable B&b), hadn't really occurred to me to worry about this until now.

I was just going to take the cover and put it over the bike, tucked well away in the car park.

Do you think it will be an issue?

I will be in a relatively rural area, so figure it will be fine......

Thoughts, comments.....

Cheers

I have a disc lock you could have used. I'm in Liverpool. It has an alarm on it too.

Ask the guest house owner if they have room in their garage or rear yard that you can place the bike in . I'm sure it will be safe , but prevention is best .

I think I share your concerns - coming from where we do, bikes disappear quite easily - even on touring hols ( even the IoM!), I take a disc lock just for peace of mind - it's worth it and obviously you can use it when you get back - +1 on checking if the gaff have a secure place for your ride ..The Oxford Boss locks are quite compact and insurer approved and are about £40 I think...

I would recommend any of the Xena disk lock range!! Quite affordable, and very loud. It would be worth to have at least a disk lock just for peace of mind, and it will get it's use :)
