Is it wise to wash your bike with cold water when the engine is hot?

I want to wash the bike, cant be arsed getting all the stuff out of the shed, so thinking ill nip to the gararge and use the wash station.

Will this damage the engine if its hot?

Feel free to mock!

I think the only time cold water would be an issue is if your engine temp was at max and you rapidly cooled it down.. But it shouldn't be an issue at all

Absolutely no problem whatsoever. Think about when you drive through a big puddle. Just make sure you don't jet water directly onto electrical connections.

Im a fair weather biker, my bike never sees puddles!

I did think that but then though a puddle is more of a splash than a constant spray. Im sure it will be fine :-)

If the road works near my house would fekk off I wouldnt need to clean it!

Most if not all of the jet washes at garages have hot water , but beware of too much pressure in places .

In winter I always wash the bike in cold water , the hot water is suppose to react to salt

Make sure you don't jet wash your wheel centres it blows the grease out.

Didn't end up cleaning it in the end. Still haven't! Does anyone want to wash my bike, either at a garage or in the garden?

On the ACF50 tip I had it done (before it got dirty) and will admit so far so good!
