Employment question.

If one has booked holidays (accrued) can this be used as notice period?
Say 2 weeks holiday booked, hand notice in on last day before holiday ( 2 week notice period).

I did it 7 years ago handed my notice in on Friday and that was that. I would imagine not all employers would let you do it though

The timing of you P45 with your new employer could be fun, unless you are actually taking the holiday before staring.

Of course I'm taking the holiday, I wouldn't have booked it otherwise.

It's just the way it's fallen new job offer/holiday/notice.

I would guess if the holiday was booked prior then yes, other option would be work it and get paid your remaining holidays on leaving

Notice period is exactly that.
The fact you have holidays booked doesnt matter.

Only thing I would always say is never burn your bridges if they are a decent employer.
Always handy if the new job isnt as it seems.

Agree 100%, it's been a good place to work, just need to move on for my own reasons.
